Mo Kick

      When Mo Kick retired in 1994 he had become the first greyhound to win more than $300,000 in his racing career, joined a to be named to three different short list of greyhounds who won more than 100 races with 109 victories, and was one of only six greyhounds in history to be named to three different All-America Teams.  He had also garnered the Flashy Sir Award as the best distance greyhound in 1992.

The red brindle son of Jig Jag Mo and Mo’s Silver was whelped in January of 1990 and owned by Recko Enterprises.  In 1991, Mo Kick began his stakes career by winning the St. Croix Derby in Wisconsin.  He won 13 straight races that first year, capturing the Flagler track title with nine wins in 15 outings.  He also won the $200,000 final of the Greyhound Race of Champions at Orange Park Kennel Club in Jacksonville, Florida.  For his efforts, he was named captain of the 1991 All-America Team.

In 1992, Mo Kick ran second in the Hollywoodian, third in the Hollywood World Classic, was a finalist in the Florida World, and finished second in the Greyhound Race of Champions at Dairyland.  He was the Flashy Sir Award winner and once again was named to the All-America Team.

The next year, he made the finals of the Hollywoodian, won the Flagler International Classic, and was named to his third All-American Team.  Still racing in 1994, he made the Hollywoodian final for the third straight year and the Flagler Classic final for the second time.
